About
Geneva Frans is a South African artist, jewelry designer, and founder of Geneva Frans Atelier, a brand rooted in personal healing, cultural rediscovery, and the feminine spirit. Inspired by South Africa's rich cultural tapestry and her own journey to reconnect with lose ancestry.
This brand is personal, Every piece she sculpts — in wax, wood, or silver — is shaped by the stories she carries, handcrafted silver and wood pieces that function as adornment, talismans, and storytelling artifacts. A graduate of Stellenbosch University in Jewelry Manufacturing, Geneva combines traditional artisanal techniques such as sculpting, casting and smithing with spiritual and symbolic themes — exploring cultural identity, female resilience, and the complexities of body politics. Saartjie Baartman remains a core muse, influencing works that reflect strength through vulnerability and the sacred feminine. Geneva Frans Atelier jewellery pulls from the symbolisms of Africa, spiritual talismans, and sacred femininity — the strength in softness, the armor in adornment.
As the brand is fairly new her accolades include awards in high school design, Group Exhibitions such as Slow Intimacy and Gradex (2022), and selling her work directly to collectors. What began as childhood paintings and jewellery beading at school fairs is now a brand destined for global recognition. Geneva’s mission is to spotlight South Africa’s artisanal brilliance — not just as a resource hub, but as a home of creative innovation. She aims to mentor young, under-resourced talent, giving others a chance to find purpose and an artistic voice, just as she did.
